water mist from glass

In the market, you can find two types of display fridges: those with glass doors but no heater, and those with glass doors equipped with heaters.

When using a display chiller, fridge, or freezer with glass doors, you might face situations where the commercial fridge’s glass door fogs up or accumulates water droplets. Some customers may not be familiar with common knowledge about commercial fridges and might mistakenly believe that something is wrong with the fridge when encountering such situations. However, this is not necessarily the case.

So, if you notice water mists on the glass door of display chillers, here are some solutions:

Solution 1: Adjust the Temperature

When the glass door of the commercial fridge fogs up or has water mists, you can try adjusting the temperature settings. Reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside the fridge. If the commercial refrigerators is indoors, you can take steps such as using air conditioning to lower the indoor temperature. This helps reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside, minimizing water mist formation on the glass door.

Solution 2: Regular Wipe Daily

Maintain your glass door fridge regularly by wiping the glass door with a soft cloth and wiping away condensation promptly. Also, try to minimize the frequency of opening the glass door and ensure good ventilation.

Solution 3: Proper Placement

When you initially place the display fridge, ensure it’s in a well-ventilated area and avoid moist locations. This can help reduce the formation of condensation and fog on the glass door.

Solution 4: Choose Display Fridge with Heater Glass Door

Consider purchasing display fridge equipped with heater in the door frame. These elements help prevent fogging and condensation on the glass door.

Solution 5: Check for Gasket Damage

Damage to the door gasket of a display fridge can allow moisture to enter the commercial refrigerator, leading to the formation of water mists. If you spot a damaged door seal, it’s crucial to replace it promptly. This helps maintain proper insulation and prevents moisture from getting into the display fridge.

Water mists often form on glass doors due to temperature differences inside commercial display fridge. In summer, the interior of the commercial refrigerators remains cool while outdoor temperatures rise. This significant temperature gap between the display chiller’s inside and outside leads to the appearance of water mists. When the surrounding temperature reaches a certain level, condensation occurs on the glass door, resulting in visible water droplets. The larger the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the display chillers, the more water droplets you’ll observe.
